an Italian professional football club based in Bergamo, Lombardy. The club was
founded in 1907 and has since become one of the most successful and respected
clubs in Italian football history. Atalanta has spent most of its history
playing in Serie A, the top tier of Italian football, and has enjoyed a number
of successful seasons in recent years, including qualifying for the UEFA

History:
Atalanta was founded in 1907 by a group of young men from
Bergamo who were passionate about football. The club's first official match was
played on December 17, 1907, against a team from nearby Seriate. Atalanta

again and advanced to the knockout stages. Atalanta faced Real Madrid in the
round of 16 and won the first leg 1-0 before losing the second leg 3-1, which
saw them eliminated from the competition.
